Basic Configuration
Chaterm provides a flexible configuration system to help you manage SSH connections and encryption keys efficiently. This guide will walk you through Chaterm's basic configuration options to make the most of its features.
Host Configuration
One of the core features of Chaterm is managing and connecting to remote servers via SSH. You can configure your SSH connections through the Chaterm interface.
Adding Hosts
In Chaterm, each SSH connection is represented as an asset. Click the host button in the local connection of the sidebar to add an asset. The asset includes the following details:
Properties | Description |
---|---|
Alias | Friendly name of the connection |
Connection address | Server host name or IP |
Port number | SSH port (default: 22) |
Authentication type | Password-based or key-based |
User name | SSH login username |
Group information | Group label information |
Modify and delete
- Modify: In the asset management page, select the host card to be modified and click the Edit button to modify it.
- Delete: In the asset management page, right-click the host card to be deleted and select the Delete option in the pop-up menu. The system will ask for a second confirmation, and the host can be deleted after confirmation.
Keychain Configuration
In order to perform secure authentication with remote servers, Chaterm provides a powerful key management system.
